New ISO Meeting for Shipboard Safety Signs

ISO/TC8 SC1 WG3 has met in Stockholm to continue the elaboration of the 3 part ISO Standard ISO 24409 last month. All documents have now been further elaborated and the work item reactivated to deal in particular with the new publications of safety signs in the workplace and for water safety by ISO/TC 145. The next meeting will be held in London in November 2007.

New ISO Standard for Durability and Luminance properties of Safety Signs

ISO 17398 has been published and has been adopted into British Standards as BS ISO 17398 to provide a basis for specification of safety signs suitable for use. Photoluminescent Safety Signs can now be classified by their luminance decay performance according to IS0 17398 and hence provide for a basis of minimum performance guarantees.
