JALITE history in serving the marine and offshore oil industry now goes back well over 20 years.

JALITE introduced the first, photoluminescent safety way-guidance systems to the UK offshore oil exploration industry in the early 80's, providing an essential back up to electrical emergency lighting.

In the late 80's saw the introduction of the first JALITE photoluminescent safety signs for life saving appliances for passenger ships. This requirement being precipitated by the disaster to the Herald of Free Enterprise.

Since that time, JALITE has progressively improved the quality of the photoluminescent materials, products and services offered to this market and have helped develop the crucial International Standards for these applications.
